PDT (Photodynamic Therapy) with Levulan®
Photodynamic therapy is the process of activating Levulan, a photosensitizer, by exposing it to light to produce a chemical reaction that destroys abnormal skin cells. Levulan is an aminolevulinic acid solution found naturally within the body. The solution is absorbed selectively by the abnormal skin cells in the treated area. Levulan is then activated with blue light.
