We have implemented the use of cannulas in April 2010. It is a needle-less technique of injecting dermal fillers that revolutionized aesthetic injections. With the exception of minor corrections. we use it routinely for all available fillers.

The use of cannulas is a major step forward in Aesthetic Medicine making filler injections a procedure that is much safer, less traumatic and with negligible downtime. It is much better tolerated, allows very precise and smooth placement of the filler, eliminates the risk of bruising or bleeding and eliminates downtime to almost negligible. Preliminary reports suggest the possibility of a longer duration of the product/fillers when injected through a cannula. 

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid fillers contains a substance common to all species of mammals and of identical chemical structure. Hyaluronic acid is an integral part of normal skin. It attracts and binds water at more than 1000 times its weight. It provides the skin with volume and hydration.

There are several hyaluronic acid products available some of animal origin some produced by modified bacteria, and some derived from natural human hyaluronic acid.

We carry the following non–animal hyaluronic acid dermal fillers:

•JUVEDERM ULTRA & ULTRA PLUS

Neither of these fillers require pre–injection skin testing. Each product contains hyaluronic acid with a different viscosity and molecular size. Their effect last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.

 

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler used widely around the world.. Although it is manufactured in six different types, only two of them are approved by FDA in US: Juvederm Ultra™ and Juvederm Ultra Plus™ Both products are of non–animal origin therefore skin testing is not needed. Juvederm Ultra™ is less viscous and is used in:

•Forehead horizontal lines

•Glabellar frown lines

•Tear troughs

•Nasal sculpting/contouring

•Nasolabial folds

•Cheek augmentation

•Chin augmentation

The corrective effect lasts 12 months.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite Dermal Fillers

Calcium Hydroxylapatite is a natural substance composed of calcium and phosphorus. It is an integral part of bones and has been used in medicine and dentistry for decades.
